HILLSBORO, Ore. -- Two school buses collided Tuesday afternoon in Hillsboro, injuring a bus driver and four students, a Hillsboro Fire and rescue spokesperson said.
Fire department representative Storm Smith told KATU News one bus rear-ended another at 3:50 p.m. in the southbound lane of the Brookwood Parkway at Highway 26.
One bus driver and four students were taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, Smith said.
Police officers said one bus was at a red light when the second bus hit it while traveling at about 25 miles per hour.
The Hillsboro School District said two buses were dispatched to the area to take the remaining students home. All of the students were from Liberty High School.
None of the drivers was given a citation at the scene, but traffic officers are still investigating the crash.
The crash blocked the road for about an hour.
